On Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) is a set of reporting tools which allow for reliable, up-to-date information, with a direct connection to your businesses operating system. By bringing your reporting tools into a single point of access for all departments, your business will have full access to all data in a format that they are familiar with, such as Microsoft Excel, saving time and money.
With most of the clients and companies we have dealt with, both large multi-nationals and smaller privately owned companies, we have found that many of their systems, while being excellent databases and operational systems, do not cater for the needs of Modern Management as regards flexible Reporting and Analysis. As a result, many of them tend to rely on manually produced reports using Microsoft Excel.
While we believe that Microsoft Excel is one of the best such tools on the market today, this leads to the production of data prone to errors from the data either being out of date or lost in transition.
As a result we spent many months investigating better ways of doing this and came up with PowerOLAP as the ideal solution. PowerOLAP is an OLAP based tool owned by Paris Technologies based in Pennsylvania in the USA and our company is now an Australian partner and has been since 2003.
One of the main reasons that we believe that PowerOLAP, through Paris Technologies, a leader in the field of OLAP technology, is the ideal solution is that they combine the power of OLAP, through PowerOLAP, with Microsoft Excel (as well as other products such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint) to give you, in effect, live data in your Microsoft models, presentations and reports. This is taking the concept of OLAP to the extreme.
